DO Tales from Advertising Week

After hitting the west coast to present our concept to the tech community at TechCrunch Meetup 9, we had our chance to pitch to the ad world right in the heart of Metropolis…New York City. We’d been prepping for Advertising Week for months and it was great to finally get there. It was definitely a whirlwind adventure. Here are the highlights:

25 Sept 07 ‘€“ We kicked off our adventures by hosting a cozy happy hour with some very supportive clients. We had a chance to finally put faces to voices and thank everyone in person for their patience, insights and help along the way as we’ve moved from concept to creation. Friends from Massive Media, Micro Target Media, Prime Point Media, Security Point Media and the TRUE agency (among others) were able to stop by and share a few cocktails with us. A big thank you to everyone who was able to make it out. (Check back soon for pictures from the event.)

26 Sept 07 ‘€“ After many happy hours the night before, we made our way with all of our goodies to the Jacob K. Javits Center for the Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) STAR Showcase…a tradeshow and seminar session focused on what’s next in the outdoor advertising space. The show had a strong turnout, both among attendees and other exhibitors. It was fun to walk the show and meet the other companies whose continuous innovation makes our industry one of the most dynamic one out there right now.

Of course our main purpose for being there was to present our story…which we did, over and over and over again to anyone who stopped long enough to listen. Those who spent some time with us and checked out the site right there loved it. After talking with industry professionals on both sides of the fence, we feel even more strongly that the alternative media world needs DOmedia. We’re excited about our potential to be a useful tool for both buyers and sellers to use to make their lives a bit easier. It’s one thing to feel confident that you have a great idea. It’s even better to have it affirmed by the people who would be using it.

All in all, the show couldn’t have gone any better for us. We returned to Columbus even more excited to get the word out (if you’re reading this, feel free to talk us up to all your friends…) and continue developing the tools and resources that will make DOmedia an indispensable part of any alt media professionals toolkit.
