6 Things We’re Looking Forward To at the TAB/OAAA Conference

The BIG Picture: TAB/OAAA Out of Home Media Conference & ExpoPicture this: two of the biggest organizations in out-of-home advertising, the best and brightest individual minds, and marketers from across the country converging in paradise. That’s The BIG Picture: The 2016 TAB/OAAA Out of Home Media Conference and Expo.

If you’re familiar with the OOH, chances are you’ve heard of the TAB and the OAAA. The Traffic Audit Bureau is the most important source of out-of-home media data and ratings. The Outdoor Advertising Association of America is the leading national trade organization whose vision is “to lead and unite a responsible OOH advertising industry committed to serving the needs of advertisers, consumers, and communities.” The OAAA’s member companies represent more than 90% of industry revenue.

This year’s Boca Raton event takes a look at The BIG Picture of the advertising landscape. The focus will be on the changes and challenges every marketer experiences- and more importantly, how to manage and overcome them.

Everybody has something to gain from the events and speakers. Here are a few we’re super pumped for.

The Expo

The Expo will be one of the biggest events in Boca Raton, and it’s what sets this event apart from other advertising conferences. It showcases the cutting-edge of all sorts of media, technology, and other suppliers. The OOH is constantly growing with new innovations and new ways to reach audiences.

Monday 12 PM 8 PM, Tuesday 7:15 AM 5 PM, and Wednesday 7:15 AM – 8:15 AM

Out-of-Home Today and Tomorrow

The first general session of the conference portion will start us off with a bang: the presidents of both TAB and the OAAA will discuss the future of OOH. Kym Frank of TAB will talk on measurement, particularly Operation M.O.R.E. The operation is the next generation of OOH media measurement that TAB is developing, and it will bring the industry to a new level.

Nancy Fletcher of the OAAA will be taking a look at the OOH industry as a whole where it is today, and where it’s headed. She’s seen the industry change plenty over the years.

Coffee Break

There’s one every day! How great is coffee?

Out-of-Home Close To Home

One of OOH’s greatest strengths is location targeting. Gordon Borrell is a Media Analyst and CEO of Borrell Associates. He knows a thing or two about local advertising– He’s a board member of The Local Media Association. He’ll be talking about the full power of OOH in local markets, and how it can increase effectiveness and drive sales by targeting. This is a great opportunity to hear from one of the top 2% of Gerson Lehrman Group‘s 150,000 worldwide consultants.

Feeling the Real

If you haven’t heard of the OAAA’s “Feel the Real” campaign from this past year, check it out. It was a powerful campaign that featured exciting new ideas in creative and targeting. More importantly, it demonstrated the real power that OOH can have. Ted Florea, Chief Strategy Officer at PNYC, will talk about the results and effects of the campaign.

The Future of Out-of-Home

Who better to hear about the future of OOH from than the practitioners themselves? The Future of Out-of-Home – Powered by Smart Data panel features top dogs at OUTFRONT Media, Clear Channel Outdoor, and Posterscope US, moderated by Ryan Laul, president of Outdoor Media Group, part of Omnicom. Now that’s a list of leaders you don’t want to miss.

With this lineup and many more engaging speakers from the industry, we can’t wait for the conference. Be on the lookout for our recap of some of our favorite moments, because we’re amazing like that.
